PYROGENT Gel clot assay is a qualitative LAL test for Gram-negative bacterial endotoxin with sensitivies of 0.03, 0.06, 0.125 and 0.250 EU/ml. It is an excellent choice for laboratories testing limited number of samples. It is also an economical choice in that no major equipment purchases are necessary. LAL, as supplied, is reconstituted with LAL reagent water and then mixed in equal parts with the samples solution being tested. After a 1-hour incubation, the samples are read visually by simply invert the reaction tube. In the presence of endotoxin, gelation occurs; in the absence of endotoxin, gelation does not occur. PYROGENT-5000is a quantitative, kinetic assay for the detection of Gram-negative bacterial endotoxin. A sample is mixed with the reconstituted LAL reagent, placed in an incubating plate reader and automatically monitored over time for the appearance of turbidity. PYROGENT-5000 is measured at the 340 nm wavelength and has sensitivity range from 0.01 to 100 EU/ml. PROGENT-5000 is perfect for laboratories needing to process large numbers of samples, large volume parenterals and water rinses from medical devices.

Kinetic-QCL is aquantitative, kinetic assay for the detection of Gram-negative bacterial endotoxin. Kinetic-QCL is the most sensitive of the LAL assays, having a sensitivity range of < 0.005 EU/ml-50 EU/ml. A sample is mixed with the LAL/Substrate reagent, placed in an incubating plate reader and monitored over time for the appearance of a yellow color. It is the chromogenic nature of the Kinetic-QCL assay that makes it the most appropriate choice for testing small volume parenterals, vaccines, antibiotics and biologicals. Kinetic-QCL is less affected by inhibitory products products that may interfere with the clotting mechanism in turbidimetric and gel-clot assays. (top page) |
